Add your name: we call on Google to respect workers’ fundamental freedoms of association and assembly, and their right to organize without fear of retaliation.
In Toronto, Google’s sister company, Sidewalk Labs, hopes to build a smart city test bed on public waterfront land with the aid of public money, giving the company the opportunity to dominate yet another tech market.
With Google’s troubling record on workers’ rights – its reliance on precarious forms of work, poor handling of sexual harassment claims and now open union-busting – we question whether this company is the right partner for Toronto’s public sector.
This petition will be delivered to Google's Canadian office, with a copy to Waterfront Toronto's board, and relevant elected officials.
